98 Subaru Legacy GT gripes
David W. Jeske
Before I get into the gripes, I just want to say that I absolutly love
this car. If you havn't already, you should check out some of my other
information about it.
Gripes:
- There are no "stops" in the rear seat belt fabric to stop the
buckles from falling below the seat cushion. (Not the buckle
receiver, but the buckle hook which is on the strap).
- I'm fine with the "frame-less windows" however, I've seen
two problems with them. (1) the doors take a little more force
to close tham I'm used to because of it. (2) my left rear door
window sometimes gets caught on the "outside" of the rain guard
when I close it. This dosn't happen on any other doors, so I'm
pretty sure it's a fit problem. I'm going to have them look at
it when I take it in and I'll followup here....
- It's more sensitive to "road angle" than other cars I've driven.
Namely, if the road you are on is crowned for water drainage,
you can often feel like the car is pulling to the downhill side.
Dispite the feel that this is an alignment issue, if you
drive on on the other side (which is crowned the other way)
you'll likely find it the opposite, and if you drive down the
center you'll feel no pull.
